Many customers like to know about the farm and people behind the horses they buy, or breed to. Here we will tell you a little about us.

Our Business Philosophy:

The objective of our business is to breed horses that are athletic enough  for the top professional, but have the brains & disposition to easily be winners in the best competition for Children, Juniors & Amateurs.  Our consignment horses/ponies only come from people that we've known & done business with long enough to know that the animal is legitimate to do the job it is being sold to do. Most of them are living on our farm, so we have first hand experience w/ them.  I have 4 children of my own, & I want a childs horse to be as much an insurance policy as a friend & co-competitor for a child.

Our Background

Pam & Bruce Bishop along w/ thier 4 children, Bruce II, Shannon, Logan & Blaine, own & manage Fresh Start Farm.  Pam started riding when she was 8 & living in CA.  Her love was always H/J & Eventing.  Her Dad was in the Navy, so moving every 3 or 4 years gave her the opportunity to ride all over the world, literally.  She spent her high school years in Rota, Spain, & rode everything from Andalusian stallions & Steeplechase TB's, to barrel racing horses & bucking bulls in the Rodeo Club.  She received  her BS degree at Va. Tech in Animal Science w/ a minor in Agronomy in '81, & received a MBA w/ emphasis in Marketing from St. Louis University in '87.  When Pam & Bruce, a microbiologist at Pfizer, married they started what began as Bishop Farm, & then grew to Fresh Start Farm.

Our Farm:

Bishop Farm started w/ one stallion, a phenominal Quarter Horse, Knowadahmean.  He was '92-'93 AQHA Jumper Stallion of the Year.  In Jan-March of '94  he competed in Florida & was Champion at 1st Level Dressage in Clarcona (over 50 horses), switched gears  & went to the AQHA show there & was Champion in the Open Jumpers & switched gears again & was consistently in the top 5 in the AHSA Modified Jumpers at Wellington.  He was the USDF Quarter Sport Horse of the Year in '93 at 1st Level & as of 2004 was still the USEF top QH sire of both USEF hunters & jumpers.  On April 18, 1994, he was tragically killed in a barn fire, at the pinnacle of his career.  His son Knowtorious Son was born that year, & we moved him & the other surviving horses from what was Bishop Farm, & started Fresh Start Farm, where we strive to breed the athletic & mentally superior horses that Knowadahmean was, & Knowtorious Son has come to be.  For those that are looking for the warmblood horses &/or ponies, we see these same qualities in Gonzilla, Rijn Beau, JG The Roan Ranger & Khamian Curious Kiwi.
